RALEIGH, N.C. – Operation: Coming Home, a joint volunteer project led by the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County (HBA), the Triangle Real Estate and Construction Veterans (TREAC-V), and supported by Royal Oaks Building Group and Gaines & Company, among others, will host the 2011 Victory for Vets Sunset Ride on Saturday, July 23. Registration will open at 7 p.m., with a start point of the Locked & Loaded Grill, located at 1125 U.S. Highway 70 in Garner, and an end point of the Rally Point Sports Bar, located at 1837 N. Harrison Ave. in Cary. Registered participants will enjoy food discounts at the Locked & Loaded Grill, and free hot dogs at the Rally Point Sports Bar, which will also offer live music and a raffle. The ride is $20 per rider and $15 per passenger, with all proceeds benefitting Operation: Coming Home and its efforts to donate homes to disabled veterans. For more information, email rgstardust@yahoo.com or ofcd44@yahoo.com . QUOTES: “Operation: Coming Home is making preparations to donate its third home to a disabled veteran later this year,” said Rich Van Tassel, member of Operation: Coming Home’s Board of Directors and president of Royal Oaks Building Group. “The Victory for Vets Sunset Ride is a great adventure for a Saturday evening, but also will serve as a highly beneficial fundraising event to support providing housing for our next veteran, so we are looking forward to an excellent ride.” NEW MEDIA CONTENT: Operation: Coming Home Facebook Page http://on.fb.me/p36FMG </p&g

Operation: Coming Home Attains 501(c)3 Status

RALEIGH, N.C. – Operation: Coming Home Foundation ( http://operationcominghome.com ), a joint volunteer project led by the Triangle Veterans Association, Inc. (formerly Triangle Real Estate and Construction Veterans Association, Inc.) , and the Raleigh-Wake County Home Builders Association, and supported by Royal Oaks Building Group and Gaines & Company, among others, has announced that it has attained the official 501(c)3 status from the Internal Revenue Service, thus allowing all contributions to the charitable organization to be tax-deductible. This will benefit OCH in its efforts to raise more money to pay for homes constructed for disabled veterans of the Iraqi and Afghan conflicts. With this new status, OCH can apply to the N.C. Department of Revenue for exemption from state sales tax, corporate income tax and franchise tax as well. QUOTES: “We are excited and grateful about receiving official 501(c)3 status for Operation: Coming Home from the IRS,” said Rich Van Tassel, member of the OCH board of directors and president of Royal Oaks Building Group. “This will be a tremendous help to us as we raise funds in advance of our donation of a third home to a disabled veteran later this year. Now, donors will know their gifts will produce the maximum results for their dollars on this project, as well as not penalize them when tax filing arrives in 2012.” NEW MEDIA CONTENT: Operation: Coming Home on Facebook http://on.fb.me/p36FMG Operation: Coming Home Videos http://bit.ly/o9qbMu &
